GS Logo DK GreenGriefShare Ministry at St. John is a weekly support group for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one.  Grief Ministry’s Mission is to walk alongside those who are grieving to a place of knowing Christ’s love, hope and healing by offering support, encouragement, and the means to a healthy recovery.

Grieving has no time limit, so people are welcome to come at any time after their loss, including weeks, months, or even years. The support group is open to our church members and to the community-at-large.

Each GriefShare session includes a DVD presentation and group discussion. The video features experts on grief recovery and real-life stories of people who have experienced losses. The sessions are held on Monday evenings at 7:00 and Tuesday afternoons at 1:30, in the Fellowship Hall; coffee and refreshments are always available.  Both sessions are also accessible through Zoom.

The hope of our GriefShare ministry is to offer caring, listening, understanding, prayer, and encouragement, knowing that God is faithfully with us for each step along the journey of grief.

Additional Grief Ministry Events include:

  • Candlelight Service of Remembrance—the 1st Sunday of November at 4:00PM
  • Lighting of the Christmas Hope Lights—early December
  • Butterfly Release—July or August
