I AM - Seven Things Jesus Says About Himself

Sermon Series - Sundays - January 16th to February 27th

IAMIn the Gospel of John, Jesus gives seven ways in which He is the great I AM. From the burning bush, God first introduced this name to Moses.  When Moses asks, “What shall I say your name is?”  God says, “I AM who I AM.”  Being God in the flesh, Jesus announces that He is I AM, but also adds how and why He is I AM. During this series we will look at all seven of Jesus’s I AM statements and learn what they mean to us personally as we live in the uncertainty and complexity of a new year.

  • Jan 16 - I AM the bread of life - John 6:35; 41; 48; 51
  • Jan 23 - I AM the light of the world - John 8:12
  • Jan 30 - I AM the door of the sheep - John 10:7; 9
  • Feb 6 - I AM the good shepherd - John 10:11; 14
  • Feb 13 - I AM the resurrection and the life - John 11:25
  • Feb 20 - I AM the way, the truth, and the life - John 14:6
  • Feb 27 - I AM the vine - John 15:1; 5

                                          2022 Bible Reading Plan
BibleSt. John believes that Bible Reading is important, nourishes, and that God’s Word always has effect.  To encourage people to read their Bibles, LCMS has an online Bible Reading Plan for 2022.  Missing a day or two, or even a week, does not mean failure - the idea is to keep reading, as time permits.
